Race FAQs
Why was Miner Gold Rush and the Fall Festival moved to an earlier time of the day?
As we know, Colorado weather can be unpredictable! In our best effort to avoid the afternoon thunderstorms that have affected previous years, we have moved the start of the 5K Race, the 1-Mile Fun Run and the Fall Festival to morning hours.
How do I register for the Miner Gold Rush?

What is included in the race registration?
All race participants will receive:
- A Miner Gold Rush t-shirt
- Admission to the Fall Festival
- A goody bag
- A racing bib
- 5K - numbered for timing
- 1-mile - all with the same number as a souvenir
Will there be a way to preview this year’s t-shirt prior to the event on September 28?
Yes! We have heard your concerns and are excited to announce we have partnered with a new vendor for this year’s MGR race t-shirts. PRA has provided t-shirt display areas at the Back to School Bingo (August 22) and Back to School Night events (August 27 and Sept. 4) for families to view the material firsthand.
How much do the races cost?
Early Bird Registration - May 1 through September 7:
- 5K - $40
- 1 Mile Fun Run - $25
Regular Registration - September 8 through September 27:
- 5K - $45
- 1 Mile Fun Run - $30
Same-day Registration
- 5K - $55
- 1 Mile Fun Run - $40
I am no longer able to run in the race. Can I get a refund or transfer my registration?
Unfortunately, we do not offer refunds and registrations are non-transferable.
What time does the Miner Gold Rush 5K start?
The 5K begins corralling at 8:30am and starts promptly at 9:00am. Please click this link for more information on the 5K race.
What does the race course look like for the Miner Gold Rush 5K?
How long is a 5K?
5 Kilometers = 3.1 miles.
Does the Miner Gold Rush 5K count as a BOLDERBoulder qualifier?
Yes! According to the BOLDERBoulder FAQ: "Any timed race between three miles and a marathon completed within one year of the upcoming BOLDERBoulder can get you in a qualified wave."
Who does the timing for the Miner Gold Rush 5K?
What time is the awards ceremony?
There is an award ceremony where the top three finishers of each division will receive a metal. The awards ceremony will take place at the main stage of the Fall Festival at 12:30 p.m.

What is the timeline for the 1-Mile Fun Run?
We have several different start times for the Fun Run, depending on the grade level of the runners. Please click this link for more information on our Fun Run!
Are strollers allowed?
Strollers are allowed for both the 5K and 1-mile races.
How do I receive updates about the upcoming races I am registered for?
This website will give you the latest information. We will also be sending you emails to keep you up to date.
Are dogs allowed?
While we love all animals we are unfortunately unable to accommodate dogs at our event unless they are certified service animals.
Where can I pick up my racing packet and goody bag?
Participants can pick up their goody bag at the Early Packet Pickup on Friday, September 27, from 4:00 p.m. - 6:00 p.m. in the PRA HS Gym or on the day of the race in the same location beginning at 8:00 a.m. Please click this link for more information on our early packet and race day pickup.
Where do I park?
We are highly recommending that those who live in the neighborhoods surrounding the school walk to the event if at all possible. We are also encouraging carpooling. Please continue to check our website for parking updates.
How do I sign up to be a volunteer at the races?

Fall Festival FAQs
What time is the Fall Festival open to families?
Fall Festival hours are 10 a.m.-2 p.m. on the grass soccer field. For those who purchase a family sponsorship package, early access to the Fall Festival begins at 9:30 a.m.
How do I purchase a Fall Festival wristband?
Fall Festival wristbands are included in both the 5K and the 1-mile race registrations. Just doing the Fall Festival? Click this link to preorder your wristbands! You can also purchase Fall Festival wristbands on the day of the event at our information booth, but they are more at the door.
What is included with a Fall Festival wristband?
We have all sorts of games, food, and fun included with the Fall Festival wristband. Click this link to visit our Race Info Page. Here you will find is included in your wristband purchase, as well as get the most up-to-date information
Do I have to have a Fall Festival wristband if I am not participating in any of the Fall Festival attractions?
No, you can come to the event without paying! Payment is only required if you are participating in Ninja Nation or the carnival games.
Is Ninja Nation going to be at the Fall Festival again this year?
Yes! We are happy to be partnering with Ninja Nation again this year. Save time by filling out their waiver online! Click here to fill out the waiver.
What if I've lost something at the Fall Festival or during the race?
We will have a Lost and Found located at the Fall Festival information booth.
What food options are available at the Fall Festival?
We are excited to be hosting several food trucks at the Fall Festival! They will be parked outside of the HS commons in the driveline cutout.

Will face painting be available this year?
Yes! We are excited to announce the return of face painting at our Fall Festival! Face painting will be sponsored by Krista Hwang. Donations are accepted with proceeds going to PRA's theater program.

Where will the VIP parking be located for Family Sponsors?
Parking will be in the staff lot just east of the soccer field.
Where can I find more information on student pledge prizes?
New this year! Students now have the opportunity to become Individual Fundraisers and join their classmates in grade-level teams! Click this link to learn more about becoming a fundraiser and the prizes they can earn!
How do I sign my student up to be an Individual Fundraiser?
Please click this link for step-by-step instructions on becoming an Individual Fundraiser. Only those signed up as fundraisers will have their donations go toward their grade or Peak total.
My family signed up for one of the races. How much of that registration will go toward my student's pledge total?
Only a PRA student's race registration can be counted toward a student's pledge totals. If your family has multiple students then you can use all of your students' race registrations toward a family total. Click this link for more information on student pledge prizes.
Can our family pledge prizes be used for younger, non-PRA students?

We became Family Sponsors. Can my PRA student share their prizes with neighbors or class friends?
Thank you so much for your donation! Only PRA students in the same immediate family are eligible for family-level pledge prizes. Click this link for more information on student pledge prizes.
What prize is awarded to the highest participating grade in each school (elementary school and middle school)?
The highest participating grade (pre-event registration) in in each school (elementary school and middle school) will earn 500 gold coins.
What prize is awarded to the participating Peak in high school?
The highest participating Peak will receive 500 Peak Points!
When is the pizza party?
The pizza party is for student philanthropist who have earned $75 or more, including any family sponsorship level. It will take place from 3:30-4:30 p.m. on Tuesday, October 15th, the day before Parent-Teacher conferences. Please check our school calendar for the most up-to-date information.
When will my student(s) receive their prize(s)?
Students will receive their pledge prizes about two weeks after the event, depending on their donation level. Hoodies may take longer to arrive. If you have any questions, please email pkelly@prospectridgeacademy.org.
